February 2017 PPG meeting

Our open day took place on October 3rd 2014; the day was a celebration of the past, present and future of the surgery. Since the 1920s when Drs Eileen and Geoffrey Coope established the Medical Centre, the relationship with the community has been at the heart of our services. Through these events the practice hopes to build on patient engagement and gather feedback about both current and future local health services.

The open day provided patients with a timeline of the main medical advances since the late 1800s, along with a history and memorabilia of the Medical Centre. The day was well attended with over 200 patients visiting, and there were local community groups and charities represented. This included the Bridgend Centre, Eye Society, Carers, Deafness Support Network, British Heart Foundation, Mental Health IAPT Service, Eastern Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group and The Alzheimer’s Society. Local primary schools participated in an art competition which was judged by the Mayor, and prizes have since been awarded to the lucky winners.
